Domestic Assistance

The Domestic Assistance service provides assistance with a range of cleaning tasks to support eligible residents to stay active, independent and living at home as long as possible.

What can it provide?

The Domestic Assistance service can undertake essential house cleaning of regularly used areas, to maintain a safe and clean home environment, including:

  • mopping or vacuuming floors
  • making beds or changing bed linen
  • clothes washing and essential ironing
  • cleaning bathroom and toilet
  • assistance with shopping.

Personal Care

Personal care supports eligible residents to live independently by assisting with personal care tasks that they are unable to perform on their own.

What can it provide?

Assistance can be provided with a range of tasks including:

  • showering or sponging
  • dressing or grooming
  • assistance with toileting
  • assistance with mobility and exercise programs
  • assistance with aids and devices
  • assistance with food preparation.

Respite Care

Respite care supports the caring relationship by providing carers of frail older people or people with disabilities with a break from their caring responsibilities.  Respite is also the opportunity for the person being cared for to have a break, or an outing without their usual carer.

What can it provide?

Respite care can be provided in a range of ways including:

  • in the resident’s home, usually on a one on one basis
  • outings away from the resident’s home, usually on a one on one basis
  • in the community, where residents participate in community activities with the support of a care worker.

Meals on Wheels

The Meals on wheels program provides a nutritious meal to eligible residents who may be unable to prepare meals or undertake shopping for food.  Meals on wheels may also be provided for a short period of time, say if you have been unwell or in hospital.

What can it provide?

The Meals on Wheels program can provide:

  • fresh meals delivered daily Monday to Friday in the townships of Boort, Bridgewater, Inglewood and Wedderburn
  • frozen meals are provided for residents living outside of these townships or who require weekend meals. 

Property Maintenance

The property maintenance service aims to maintain a safe, secure and healthy home environment to enable older people and people with a disability to live independently at home and in the community.

The service can assist with minor maintenance type tasks inside and outside of the home, that do not require the completion by a qualified tradesman.
