DECLARATION OF BOATING ACTIVITY EXEMPTION 14-15 March 2015

I, Darren Schultz, Building & Contracts Officer, of Loddon Shire Council, Waterway Manager for the Loddon River (at Bridgewater between Flour Mill Weir and Sweeney’s Lane), declare under section 203(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that the Bridgewater Ski Club Loddon Valley Championships Round 2 Water Ski Tournament on 14-15 March 2015, is exempt from:

The requirements of clause 62.6(b) (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) and (vii) (operating rules for the ‘Slalom and Ski Jumping’ exclusive use & special purpose area in relation to vessels transiting) of Schedule 62 of Notice No. 1 under section 15(2) of the Marine Act 1988.
The requirements of Regulations 103 and 104(2) of the Marine Safety Regulations 2012, in respect to persons being towed by a vessel to wear a PFD and master of recreational vessel must not tow a person unless the person is wearing a PFD. This exemption applies for Trick Events only.

This declaration applies to registered participants of the Bridgewater Ski Club Loddon Valley Championships Round 2 Water Ski Tournament from 7.30am to 7.00pm on 14-15 March 2015 on the waters of the Loddon River in the ‘Slalom and Ski Jumping’ Exclusive Use and Special Purpose Area (62.6a), provided the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Event Application and associated documentation are adhered to.
