Hundreds of visitors and community members turned out across the weekend to enjoy the 2026 Loddon Valley Arts Festival, with strong attendance at exhibitions, workshops, open studios, concerts and community events despite challenging weather conditions.

Now in its fourth year, the festival featured 45 events and exhibitions across more than 30 venues throughout Loddon Shire, showcasing the region's creative talent while attracting visitors from across Victoria.

Loddon Shire Mayor Dan Straub said the festival once again demonstrated the strength of the community and the growing reputation of the event.

“Even with less favourable weather across parts of the weekend, it was fantastic to see so many people out supporting artists, attending events and exploring our towns,” he said.

“The willingness of visitors and locals alike to embrace the festival despite the weather speaks volumes about the quality of the program and the strong community spirit that exists across Loddon Shire.”

The festival brought artists, volunteers, community groups, businesses and visitors together, highlighting the role arts and culture play in strengthening community connections and celebrating the unique character of the region.

Cr Straub said the festival delivered important economic and promotional benefits for the Shire, with visitors travelling between towns, venues and events throughout the weekend.

“The Loddon Valley Arts Festival is much more than a celebration of creativity,” he said.

“It attracts visitors, supports local businesses, showcases our landscapes, towns and stories, and continues to raise the profile of Loddon Shire as a great destination to live, work and visit.

“Every year we see greater interest in the festival and the opportunities it creates for our communities.”

Cr Straub congratulated Festival Coordinator Rosemary Sorensen, festival volunteers, participating artists, venue hosts and community groups for delivering another successful program.

“The festival continues to grow in both scale and reputation and would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of the many individuals and organisations who contribute their time and talent,” he said.

The 2026 festival program featured a diverse range of experiences, including open studios, exhibitions, workshops, concerts and unique community events, showcasing the remarkable creative talent that exists throughout the Loddon region.

The Loddon Valley Arts Festival is supported by Loddon Shire Council and remains one of the region's flagship cultural events, bringing people together and celebrating the creativity, stories and community spirit that make Loddon special.
