Huge boost for Boort foreshore

The Little Lake Boort Foreshore Recreation Precinct is one of the jewels of Loddon Shire and it has now received a major boost in its makeover.
Council is delighted to announce that it has been successful in two funding applications for the foreshore through the Victorian Government’s Local Sports Infrastructure Fund.
The successful applications are for $495,000 for the Little Lake Boort Foreshore Activity Space and $161,065 for the Boort Lawn Tennis Club lights.
The successful projects will see the installation of a skate park/pump park and installation of lighting over two courts at the Boort Tennis Club.
A skate park/pump track had been identified by the local community as a priority, with a proposed location on tennis club courts next to Nolens Park.
Complementing the two projects Council will replace and realign the existing tennis court fencing as part of the club relinquishing two courts for the skate park/pump track.
Loddon Shire Mayor Dan Straub said it was a great result for one of Council’s priority projects.
“This is a fantastic outcome for the Boort community and reflects the strong planning, collaboration and advocacy that has gone into developing these projects,” he said.
“We also thank the members of the Boort community groups that contributed to the success of these funding applications, and we can’t wait to get started and deliver outcomes that will provide fantastic benefits for the Boort community and the wider Loddon Shire.”
Council at its October 2025 meeting endorsed making three submissions to the LSIF in relation to the Precinct.
This project has been high on Council’s priority list for five years, but previous efforts to progress it had been unsuccessful due to a lack of funding.
A third application, for an accessible toilet facility at the Boort Croquet Club, was unsuccessful, however Council will continue to explore further funding opportunities for this project.
