Terrick Ward councillor Dan Straub has been re-elected as Mayor of Loddon Shire.
At a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, 11 November, Cr Straub, the sitting Mayor, was elected unopposed.
A Councillor since 2020, it will be Cr Straub’s fourth term as Mayor.
The Tandarra father of two said it was a privilege and an honour to lead Loddon Shire.
“I thank my fellow Councillors for the faith they have shown in me and I thank the community for their support as well,” Cr Straub said.
“As Councillors we take the stewardship of this great Shire seriously, and while we have got down to business in the first year of the new Council, we have plenty of work to do.
“We look forward to implementing our new Council Plan and Community Vision and as Mayor I will be the public face of that.
“Equally important in a rural shire like ours is our advocacy efforts to State and Federal Government.
“Loddon Shire has led the way on issues such as the Emergency Services Volunteer Fund and I have also been privileged this year to be chair of the Murray River Group of Councils advocating for the wider region in both Spring Street and Canberra.
“We have punched well above our weight on the issues that matter to our communities and we will continue to advocate for what is best for our shire, its residents and businesses."
