About the Performers
The Coomoora Ensemble is a Central Victorian based early music group specializing in historical instruments.
Lizzy Welsh is internationally renowned as a music-maker and performer of early music, new music and experimental improvisation, principally on the baroque violin and modern violin. She has performed across the globe throughout her career, having appeared with who has appeared with Freitags-Akademien (Berlin, Germany), Latitude 37, Van Diemen’s Band, The Night Watch (Wellington, NZ), Orchestra of the Antipodes, Accademia Arcadia, La Compañia, Ludovico’s Band, Consort Eclectus and Harken Well.
Edwina Cordingley received first-class honours as a scholarship holder for three years at the Australian National Academy of Music. She studied Baroque cello in Edinburgh with David Watkin before moving to London for an apprenticeship with Sir John Eliot Gardiner. Edwina went on to tour Europe with Sir John Eliot Gardiner in his ensembles, the English Baroque Soloists and the Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique and to perform and tour Europe as Principal Cello for The Gabrieli Consort and Players. In Australia she enjoys performing with many Historically Informed ensembles such as Genesis Baroque, Australian Baroque, Australian Haydn Ensemble, Accademia Arcadia and The Coomoora Ensemble to name a few.
Master of the harpsichord, Ann Morgan pioneered rediscovery of the "tonal image" of early music trekking through European museums to analyse historical models to the quiet, meticulous hours in their workshop, Ann was the pivotal musical force alongside Fred.
