Bank back to support Loddon Shire again as pool season opens

A hugely popular initiative will return to Loddon Shire swimming pools as they gear up for the season opening.
Community Bank Inglewood and Districts has once again joined forces with Council to offer a range of promotions to encourage everyone to enjoy our aquatic facilities.
The Loddon Shire pool season begins on Saturday, 15 November, and thanks to financial support from the bank, half price memberships will again be offered at the Inglewood, Mitiamo and Wedderburn pools.
Also this season thanks to the bank there will be a ‘Learn to swim in Loddon’ program at the Inglewood, Mitiamo and Wedderburn pools.
This four-week program is designed for children aged 5-12 years old and will consist of weekly lessons.
Community Bank Inglewood and Districts’ support was a major reason there was an 18 per cent increase in pool patronage in the 2024-25 Loddon Shire pool season.
Following on from the success of last year, board member and driving force behind the sponsorship Stewart Luckman said that making local pools affordable for local residents “is one of the best things our bank did last year”.
“This initiative is in keeping with our ethos of using our share of the profit, made from those who bank with us, to benefit the community as a whole,” he said.
“We have also seen a need for the provision of swimming lessons in our region and so will, in conjunction with Loddon Shire Council, also provide a free learn to swim program this summer.
“Our local pools are vital community resources; we are happy to partner with local government in order to see those pools more widely utilised and enjoyed.”
Loddon Shire Mayor Dan Straub said Council thanked Community Bank Inglewood and Districts for its support in helping make this summer’s pool season happen.
“Our pools are highly valued by our communities and we really appreciated the bank’s support for these initiatives,” he said.
“The Learn to Swim program will teach Loddon children how to swim, a valuable skill for life.
“It was great to see the increase in pool numbers last season and I look forward to those numbers continuing to grow.”
There will also be other initiatives across the Loddon Shire pools during the season, including:
- Water Aerobics classes will be offered at some venues between December and March; and
- Early morning swim sessions will be offered at some venues between December and February.
