Tarnagulla Country Cafe

Since August 2019, local chef Justine has been putting Tarnagulla on the foodies’ map by serving up her own fresh delicious produce at the Tarnagulla Country Café in the Community Centre.

Attracting visitors and locals alike, Justine and her small team prepare freshly baked pies, pasties, sausage rolls, focaccias, lasagne and soup six days a week. Sandwiches and rolls are made up on site from local bread and there is a full range of drinks; including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks on offer.

If the aroma of fresh coffee isn’t enough to entice the hungry traveller in, the homemade cakes and slices will seal the deal, with Justine’s current favourite being raspberry and white chocolate brownies.

Justine’s welcoming café has already proved to be a popular meeting place with locals. The café recently offered a special Fathers’ Day event and has plans for other popular occasions such as an AFL Grand Final barbeque with the match played on the big screen, as well as special events for Halloween and the Melbourne Cup.

Justine brings a wealth of experience to this venture, including time worked in Melbourne restaurants, as well as the award-winning Tooborac Hotel in Tooborac and the iconic Shamrock Hotel in Bendigo. She knows how to make her patrons feel at home by providing a welcoming country atmosphere teamed with wholesome stylish food.

The Tarnagulla Country Café has combined country hospitality with city experience and the locals are reaping the benefits.
