Orchestra Victoria has a great relationship with Bendigo and is very happy to reach out to new communities and a wider audience as our fantastic brass section under the direction of Principal Trumpet Mark Fitzpatrick brings an exciting and diverse program to the Central Victorian region.

This eleven piece Brass and Percussion ensemble will be playing a range of music from medieval to popular and everything in between.

 PROFITABILITY THROUGH NATIVE GRASSES

The day will feature Graeme Hand who is a is a Holistic Management Certified Educator. Graeme was taught by Alan Savory and learnt much through observing and through his own experience on his farm and other people’s farms. Graeme is an engaging speaker and is a well known expert on establishing profitable farming systems through the adoption of regenerative practices. This is a great opportunity for landholders to attend a workshop with Graeme and gain an overview on profitable, regenerative management practices aimed at improving the health of your stock, pastures and your land while increasing profit and managing your workload.

Topics covered on the day will include:
Holistic Management Planned Grazing (Contemporary science based grazing management)
• Regenerate your pastures at a profit
• Monitor and improve land health at a profit
• Monitor and improve animal performance and health
• Develop trials that allow you to determine plant recovery and potential perennial grass species mix
• Design a low cost, low risk grazing enterprise

 TRIVIA NIGHT

Yes, it’s on again! Please come along for a great night out and support the orphanage ‘House of Joy’ in West
Timor. For the last two years, a team of volunteers from the Boort Baptist Church have travelled to West Timor to help with small building projects in supporting the growth of the Rebana Project Orphanage – ‘House
of Joy’.

If you are interested in supporting the Rebana Project, or if you just like trivia, then come along to the Memorial Hall supper room for a community Trivia night! Indonesian styled nibbles & supper provided.
There will also be a silent auction on the night for your chance to purchase some hand selected Indonesian
merchandise with all proceeds going to the Orphanage.

Cost: $10 adult, $5 secondary school students

 MOBILITY EXPO - OVER 60'S DRIVER SAFETY INFORMATION DAY  
Friday, 21 June 2013 This event to be held on Friday 21st June at the Boort Memorial Hall highlighting how changes in physiology and mental capacity can impact driver skill and ability. Strategies and options will be
offered to lengthen driving and transition to alternative modes of transport to maintain independence.
Presentations will focus on:
 Awareness of crash and injury risk
 Impact of age related functional changes on driving ability and safety
 Strategies to maintain safe driving
 Use of alternative transport

There will be a BBQ lunch, entertainment and a Question and Answer session. All participants will leave with a goody bag.
