News>Pyramid Hill Reunion an Annual Treat
| Past and present residents of Pyramid Hill have the chance of a good catch-up when the annual Pyramid Hill Reunion takes place at Lake Weeroona, in Bendigo, on Sunday 4 March.
Originally held in Melbourne for many years, this opportunity to get together with old friends was moved to Bendigo about 10 years ago in order to make it easier for people to attend.
The night before, a group of younger ex-residents of the town meets for drinks at the National Hotel Motel in High St, Bendigo, from 6.30pm.
The reunion is organised by volunteers who charge a $5 registration fee to cover costs. A sausage sizzle is provided, but participants need to bring their own chairs, food and drink.
This year’s co-ordinator, Glenda Morrison (nee Mann), left Pyramid Hill after her high school years. Glenda took over the role last year from Ron and Lorna Pickles, formerly from Pyramid Hill, but now retired to Bendigo.
Historical society president Arthur Young will drive the community bus to Lake Weeroona – and it’s already full.
“We’d expect about 100 people there,” Mr Young said. “We’ll take down a box of historical society publications with us and hope to sell some of those.”
The reunion will run from 10am to 4pm. For more details, email Glenda at morrison.glenda.g@edumail.vic.gov.au | |
