The Records and Archives unit formally commenced operation in April 2007 with the appointment of a qualified Records Manager/Archivist. The unit is responsible for the day to day operations of Council’s current records management system, managing its archival historic records and implementing privacy and freedom of information legislation.

The unit currently consists of a Manager, a Records Officer and a part-time Archives Officer position. Archival expertise is contracted out on an as-needs basis.
