The Revised fee structure came into force 1st July 2007.
The Building Surveyor has the delegation to negotiate any of these fees with high volume builders or as the market forces or situation requires to secure our share of the market thus employment for our staff.

The Levies are charged on every building permit, for building work costing over $10,000.
The fee schedule is based on a structural certification being provided where applicable.
Where additional inspections are required they are to be charged at $90.00 plus GST.

| 2. COMMERCIAL | | Price per application.
With every consideration given to completely covering the amount of time dedicated to the project and comparison with guidelines from the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors.

| 3. STATE LEVY | | BUILDING PERMIT LEVY = 0.128% or 128 cents per $1000.00
HIH LEVY = 0.032% or 32 cents per $1000.00
The State Government Levy is charged on every building permit, for building work costing over $10,000.
The HIH Levy is charged on every domestic building permit, for building work costing over $10,000.

| 4. CONSENT & REPORT | | In-house modifications (variations to regulations and by-laws) and Council consents under the regulations $205 variation/consent.(Maximum of one [1] consents under one application)

| 5. HOUSE RELOCATION - RE-ERECTION | | Class 1 - Dwelling Min $450 plus $1.0 per m2 (Max 4 inspections) Minimum of $525.00
In accordance with clause 2.14 of the Building regulations 1994, a security deposit to the amount of $5,000.00, must be lodged with Council to service the complete and satisfactory carrying out of the work authorized by the Building permit.

| 11. MISCELLANEOUS PERMITS | | Hoarding, Occupation of Road Reserve (nature strip, footpath, etc)
Short Term Occupation $125.00
Mobile Scaffold, Cherry pickers, etc for maximum of one (1) day.
Long Term Occupation [over one (1) day]
$30.00 per lineal metre, residential areas.
$50.00 per lineal metre, commercial areas.

| 12. SPECIAL SERVICES, NOTICES & ORDERS, ETC | | Special performance based assessments, applications for reporting authority consents (country fire authority, heritage, water authority etc), preparation of protection works notices or any other necessary Building Notice or Orders, are to be charged at an hourly rate of $175.00 per hour, with a minimum fee payable of $300.00.
Resolution of old expired building permits $350.00 (including 2 inspections)
(The Building Surveyor has the discretion to vary this amount, subject to the complexity of the project and status of the works at the first inspection.)
