| Details about how to become an Australian Citizen are available from the offices of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) and from the Citizenship Telephone Enquiry Line on 131 880.
The Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs are responsible for processing your application. When the DIMA have processed your application, they forward it on to your Shire Council.
As soon as Loddon Shire is advised of impending Citizenship, a staff member will make contact with you to select a suitable time and date to conduct the ceremony. The Mayor conducts the ceremony, and you are welcome to invite family and friends to this important occasion.
At the ceremony: You will must make the Australian Citizen pledge. You will receive your Certificate of Australian Citizenship and a memento card displaying the words of the pledge.
If you wish to pledge on a Holy book you are required to supply one yourself.
