Boost Your Business vouchers
A new State Government program that aims to support Victorian businesses to become more productive, employ more people, improve market access and generally increase scale, diversity and profitability, is now open.
The Boost Your Business Vouchers program from the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) will offer vouchers of up to $50,000.
Businesses are able to apply for vouchers under four different streams – Advanced Victorian Manufacturing, Asia Gateway, Food Innovation and Social Enterprise Capability.
The vouchers will be used in exchange for services to help Victorian businesses or organisations build capabilities in three main areas: market engagement, innovation and business capability.
The first round of vouchers opened on 29 January and will close on 2 March 2018.

“Fee” free waste days
The next “fee” free waste disposal days for the quarter are scheduled for this month on 17 and 18 February.
At its meeting in September last year, Council resolved to implement “fee” free waste disposal days at our local landfill and transfer stations once every quarter.
The first “fee” free waste disposal day will be held on Saturday 17 February at the Inglewood Transfer Station from 8am to 12pm.
The next will be Sunday 18 February at Boort (1pm to 5pm), Pyramid Hill (8am to 12pm), and Newbridge (1pm to 5pm) landfills, and Wedderburn (8am to 12pm) and Dingee (10am to 2pm) transfer stations.
You will be able to dispose of up to four cubic metres of general domestic waste free of charge, including green waste, mixed recyclables and general household waste.
However, charges still apply for tyres, bricks and concrete, refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners, mattresses and e-waste. This is because these items have additional third party costs associated with their disposal.
Remember to bring your licence or rates notice to verify your address so you can benefit from this service.
Short-term registration is here
Short-term registrations of three or six months for your car or motorbike are now available. This means that you will pay less money upfront for your vehicle’s registration in comparison to an annual lump sum.
If your registration has not yet expired, go to vicroads.vic.gov.au to create a myVicRoads account and login to select the three or six month registration. Your next bill will be updated with your chosen registration period and updated payment details.
If you have already received your registration renewal notice, you can still select three or six month registration by signing up to a myVicRoads account. You must login and select your preferred short-term registration period using your customer number between Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 7:30pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 6pm.
If you are unable to sign up for a myVicRoads account, you can call the customer hotline on 1300 282 616.
